9 months

Jackson turned 9 months on Sept 18 2010. He are some of his stats:

- he weighs 22 lbs 8 ozs which puts him in the 75% range
- he is 30 inches which puts him in the 90-95% range
- he isn't crawling yet and doesn't seem like he really cares to crawl - I think he enjoys being carried around!!! - he went from being advanced last doctors appt to being behind!!!
- he talks non stop - the only thing that sounds like anything is mama and dada - he used to say dada a lot more but now is starting to say mama a lot - at first we didn't think he knew what he was saying but I think he is starting to - this last Sunday he was being held by someone and he looked over at me and was saying mama and wanting me!!! - last night it sounded like he said mom pretty clearly
- loves to swim in the pool and be in the bath tub
- has a tooth starting to poke through on top

I asked Cody to get a picture of him now that he is 9 months and this is what he took a picture of!!

Jackson crying getting a diaper change - he does cry!!!

Me holding Jackson and his little friend Maddox Levesque - they are about a month and a half apart - Jackson is older and Maddox is crawling all over the place and pulling himself up on stuff

Enjoying some food

What a big boy I am!!

My parents came to visit a couple of days ago to go to dinner with a freind of theirs. We went to Z Tejas and it was really good.

Jackson is very entertaining. In the last few days he has been putting his arm up as he sees you and other people and I wonder if he is trying to wave. For about the last month every time I go to change his diaper he is in the middle of peeing or starts to pee. Sometimes I wonder if he thinks it is entertaining because a lot of times he has a smirk on his face or if he is trying to get himself an extra bath!!! Just today as I was changing his diaper he sneezed and shot up a big stream of pee but it only happened as he sneezed!! I guess it was a reflex but he peed in his hair and in his face and looked at me like what the heck!!! He laughs pretty easily. If you look at him funny or say something he will just start busting up. We are loving every minute of him!!! Before we know it he will be turning 1!!!

7 and 8 months

Jackson is growing up so fast. On 7/25/10 right after we got back from Cody's family reunion Jackson's 2 bottom teeth came in. He had one or two rough nights when they were coming in but he was pretty good. During our Bear Lake trip he rolled from his back to his stomach for the first time at my brother's house. He didn't really do it again until 8/12/10 when we were back home and he started to roll all over. He started to say dada first around 7 months and then started to say mama pretty good just after that. He jabbers a lot and makes lots of little noises. He is still always very happy and smiles very easily!!

Jackson enjoying his food!

So stinkin' cute!!

Getting fed before church

Cody put Jackson in his diaper box and he loved playing in it. He was having a good old time with the wipe container playing in his box.
Who needs toys when you have diaper boxes and wipe containers

The easiest way for me to get anything done while Jackson is awake is to put a Baby Einstein on. Even when he was pretty little he would sit and watch them. He knows from the music when it is a Baby Einstein that I am putting on and he will kick his feet, flap his arms, and squeal because he is so excited for his movie. I think his favorite one is Baby Noah.

Jackson sitting on my bed enjoying his Baby Noah and playing with an empty cup!!

While we were at Bear Lake Jackson started to hold his own bottle. He knows how to do it but usually chooses to let you hold it for him.
A rare shot of him holding his bottle - lounging on the couch

One night after I put Jackson to bed he started to cry after I assumed he was asleep because it had been about 15 mins. When I went in to check on him he was stuck sideways in his crib. I turned him back and then another 15 mins went by. I went in to check on him and he was sideways again. This time he was laughing and kicking away. I turned him back around and then as I went to bed about 10 mins later he was asleep and stuck sideways again!!!

He is so big he doesn't fit this way!!!!

Since Jackson enjoys playing in his box we figured he would like to play in this big tupperware bin. He was having a good time in there.

Who needs a babysitter when you've got a big box to put your kid in!!!

Showing off his spike after he got a haircut

Lounging in his little chair - thankfully it isn't to far off the ground because he always tries to dive out of it

Update!!

Just wanted to let you know that I finally put up the post for Jackson's blessing. It shows up under the June postings if you want to check it out!

There is still more to come that I will be updating in the next few days.

Bear Lake - August 2010

Every year my family takes a trip to Bear Lake for a week. This year was especially great since it was Jackson's first Bear Lake trip. We had a good time as always and the nice thing about this year is that no one ended up in the hospital, we have had some instances in years past. Jackson finally got to meet the rest of my family (except for my sister's husband Ron but thankfully we will see him at the end of October). Jackson was very well loved and enjoyed getting to know his aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also got to hang out with his Grandma and Grandpa too. This is your warning there are a lot of pictures in this post!!! I had a hard time picking which ones to add!!

Ainsley holding Jackson at my house the night before we left for Bear Lake - She loved Jackson and liked to give him his pacifier even if he didn't want it - he would laugh at her a lot

My sister has a little boy Andrew who is about 6 months older than Jackson. Him and Jackson didn't seem to get off to the best start. Jackson was playing in his excersaucer and Andrew came up to him and yelled out of excitement but for some reason it scared Jackson and he started crying. After that they were both a little timid around each other. My parents rented a big van for us all to ride up in and Andrew would yell and scream in the car which would make Jackson cry. Thankfully this didn't last the whole trip but for maybe the first hour or so. It seemed when they would both get tired that this pattern would resurface but it wasn't too bad. I am pretty sure that we were all happy once we got there so we could get out of the car plus we were packed in pretty tight.

Cody with Jackson and Andrew as we are enjoying our first evening up at Bear Lake - we had just enjoyed some Bear Lake pizza for dinner

We usually go and eat at the pizza place but it is always so packed and you have to fight to get a table and the inside is usually very hot because it isn't air conditioned or else it doesn't work very well. This year we had some of the men go pick it up.

Jackson with his Uncle Chris

Jackson with Miriam

These 2 are inseperable - Ainsley and Hayden

Bear Lake is very popular this time of year and church is always very crowded. They had chairs setup in any room possible for people to listen to sacrament. We ended up in a class room just listening to sacrament meeting. It was hard to pay attention not being able to see anything.

Me and Cody with Jackson after church - I didn't get up as early as I had planned to get ready for church so it was a quick get dressed and run out the door as I am sure you can tell!!

It was funny trying to get pictures of Jackson and Andrew. Jackson would just sit there but Andrew kept crawling away!!

This one was pretty good!!

Andrew thinking I am out

Jackson grabbing on like I don't think so get back here for these pictures!!

What cute boys!!

Jackson doesn't mind posing for pictures

He loves sitting on dad's shoulders

Look at what a big boy I am!!

This is Jackson's first time on the beach! He loved it!

He was so busy checking everything out, that it was hard to get him to look at the camera

I love the look on his face in this picture

He did manage to try and eat some sand!!

The water at Bear Lake is very cold. When it first hit his feet he didn't seem to mind it. Cody took him in the water and he loved it!!

He was splashing away having a good time!

A family shot

He likes hanging out in his float

He cuddled up with me after he got out of the water

Then he fell asleep! He doesn't cuddle very often anymore so you have to enjoy it when it happens!!

After we were done at the lake for the day my nieces and nephews enjoyed some slip and slide

Cody getting ready to go ride a trail with Steve and Trina

Cody always gets to celebrate his birthday up at Bear Lake because he shares the same birthday with my sisters husband Ron. Unfortunately Ron wasn't there but we did call and sing to him!!

Typical Cody pose!!

My brother's family was very excited to get Cody some diapers for his birthday!! Hey I thought it was great too and so did Jackson!!!

Jackson got his dad this book for his birthday!!

Jackson fell asleep during the birthday party so Aunt Rochelle had to hold him in the birthday photo for a family shot!!

Jackson cuddling with his Aunt Rochelle

Another day at the beach

My brother Steve and his wife Trina hanging out at the beach

Such a cute happy little guy!! He loves the beach!!

Jackson hanging with dad on the boat - He liked the boat too and didn't mind having to wear the life jacket

I got to have some good rides on the wakeboard - the water this year was almost perfect

Jackson watching the family play some baseball with a wiffle ball

We even got a turn and ended up scoring a run!! Jackson enjoyed the bumpy/crazy ride around the bases!!!

A shot of the whole family as we wait for our shakes - we always go get raspberry shakes although I think most of the people now get different kinds of shakes - Cody and I stick with the raspberry - even though my sister tried to convince me to give Jackson a taste I didn't cave - he will have to wait till next year for his first raspberry shake

All the grandkids together

Jackson with Grandma - trying to sneak in some time with her!!

Jackson and Andrew hanging out

Hayden and Ainsley having fun together - they were pretty funny - they would fill up buckets with water and then sit in their chairs with their feet soaking in the buckets

The whole family on the boat minus Ron

Jackson loving the boat

Who is that hot guy on the wakeboard?? Sorry ladies he's mine!!!

Getting some air

Life doesn't get much better when you are drinking your bottle with such a great view!!

Jackson enjoying some carrots!!!

The men getting ready to go golfing

Cody on flag duty

Chris and Rochelle have a nice shade tent and Jackson was having a nice nap in it

Jackson started to hold his own bottle - I was letting him feed himself and this is what happened - milk everywhere - he had this look like what?? - if you look close you can see milk almost in his eye!!

My mom and dad enjoying the lake!!

Jackson sporting a spike - his hair is a little long for it

Ainsley holding Jackson

Sarah and Andrew , Me and Jackson - This year they wouldn't let you park on the beach so we carried all the stuff everyday from the car all the way down to the beach - it is a pretty long walk - especially if you are carrying heavy kids with you!!

We went swimming one day after being done at the lake - it started raining and then all of a sudden it started to hail - there was never any thunder or lightning

We got to see the Raspberry Days parade - There was about a 5 to 10 min gap in the middle of it - Initially we had our chairs all set up and were waiting for the parade to start when we learned we weren't sitting along the parade route - oops thankfully we had time to relocate

Cody and Caleb wakeboarding together

Once we were done up at Bear Lake we headed back down to Provo. We enjoyed a nice dinner at Tucanos with my Uncle Norm. After we were done eating we were walking around the shops and we ran into some friends we knew in Ohio. I used to babysit their kids.

Right after Tucanos after we ate our weight in meat!!!

Once we slept off our meat we were able to go to the temple. Thanks to Rochelle's aunt for babysitting Jackson for us!!

Out front of the Provo Temple - we did good and didn't end up showing up for the Spanish session

After the temple we headed over to Seven Peaks. Jackson had a really good time.

Jackson used to wear sunglasses and wouldn't take them off but now he does so my mom got him these that velcro - he left them on but he did try to get them off

Cody and Jackson riding a slide

Jackson getting ready for a slide

Miriam, Sarah, Andrew, my dad, and Ainsley enjoying the waterpark

Me, Cody, and Jackson taking a spin on the lazy river - Jackson fell asleep on me and I was loving every minute of it except that my back started to hurt after a while

If you look real close you will see Jackson on Cody's lap - I took him down the slide the first time and he really liked it

Grandma taking care of the 2 babies!!

Another father and son nap after a long week of playing in the sun!!

Justin, Jackson, and Wesley just before bedtime

We had a great time at Bear Lake this year. I guess it is hard to have a bad time when you get to hang out at the beach, wakeboard, swim, golf, mountain bike, hang out with family, eat some good food, play games every night, and just relax. Can't wait till next year.
